One Wish ~ A Poem

If called upon to make one wish
A plea required before the fall of night.
My wish would be for one of truest love
And wisdom to cherish this plight.

A love transcending all boundaries
Escaping all measures of time.
Forever in perfect rhythm
A faultless and melodious rhyme.

A love without expectation
Strings or roles defined.
A song of eternity, a sweet harmony
The gold resonance of voice refined.

The rainbow of no ending
Clouds silhouette softly against perfect blue.
A gentle breeze wistfully carries us
Beyond what we once thought we knew.

You may think this wish a folly
A fairytale or something I ask you to do.
But my wish is to find this love within me first
May it have nothing to do with you.
